"Verdicchio Selection"
Verdicchio di Matelica D.O.C.


A wine produced entirely from our own Verdicchio grapes. This is the first wine to be put on the market between March and April. Characterized by the presence of hints of fresh fruit (mainly apples). Being non-aromatic, you can perceive floral and vegetal notes. It has good structure and balance and fully represents all the characteristics of a vintage Verdicchio di Matelica.

"Maccagnano"
Verdicchio di Matelica Riserva D.O.C.G.


Maccagnano is the company's top product. First produced in 1993. A wine made from 100% Verdicchio grapes, coming from a single vine, bounded by sandstone rocks, discovered whilst working the soil. The altitude (450 metres above sea level) and the microclimate of Matelica, allow the Verdicchio vine to produce at its full potential.

"Ardiale"
Marche Merlot I.G.T.


First produced in 2000 with the idea of exalting the characteristics of Merlot in Matelica. We consider Matelica to be an ideal habitat for this vineyard. It is a structured wine but at the same time it is easy to drink and has elegance. To date, we have only produced six 2015 vintages, those of which we consider to be of excellent quality. It is the winery’s only wine that matures in new barriques.

"Merlot Selection"
Marche Merlot I.G.T.


A wine produced with pure Merlot grapes in the hills of Matelica. The grapes come from a privately owned vineyard of about 20 years of age, characterized by a high planting density. The sandy soil of our vineyard is ideal for Merlot growing, as it allows for excellent ripening of the grapes, consequently, giving elegance to the wine. It has a soft taste with enveloping tannins.

"Sangiovese Selection"
Marche Sangiovese I.G.T.


A red grape variety from central Italy and Matelica, in the mid hills. It has a strong, typical style where the acidic aggressiveness typical of Sangiovese is counterbalanced by a good alcohol content and consistency. It is a meal wine that is placed on the market the year after it has been harvested; this makes it an instant wine but at the same time not an easy one.

"Ceresi"
Marche Ciliegiolo I.G.T.


Pure Ciliegiolo that comes from our own vineyards at an altitude of about 450m above sea level. A wine that matures for a year in cement barrels and then ages for a further 2 months inside the bottle. It is characterised by a light ruby red colour, slightly spicy, rich and balanced taste. A wine that expresses elegance in its purity. We are the only company in Matelica and in Marche to produce it.

What “natural wine” means to us


First created from an idea of Umberto Gagliardi with the aim of exalting an area, such as Matelica with a vocation for grape production and deciding to create a wine in which man intervenes only marginally through his knowledge and technical skills, without the use of chemistry, fully embracing the “filosofia del terroir”.
Everything is part of the same territory: the grapes are Verdicchio and Sangiovese grown in Matelica, and the amphorae are made in the Marche region.
The vinification process is without skins for Verdicchio, whilst the red ferments with its skins for 10/14 days.
The fermentation takes place using indigenous yeast in concrete barrels; then it is racked into amphorae and matured for about 6 to 7 months. It is lightly filtered and then bottled.
