Maccagnano is the company's top product. First produced in 1993. A wine made from 100% Verdicchio grapes, coming from a single vine, bounded by sandstone rocks, discovered whilst working the soil. The altitude (450 metres above sea level) and the microclimate of Matelica, allow the Verdicchio vine to produce at its full potential. It’s a wine with a high alcohol content. It is full-bodied, intense and sapid; because of these qualities, it is left to mature for 18 months in the cellar.
The vinification takes place with recent techniques integrated with traditional rules. When placed on the market, the product is still fresh with room to express itself to its maximum, thus allowing for a long life.

Interesting fact: its name is closely linked to the location where it is produced. Maccagnano is one of four characters, belonging to Greek mythology. The characters are carved into the fountain in Piazza Mattei (main square) in Matelica. The four statues are positioned into the four cardinal directions: La Sirena to the North, Maccagnano to the East, Biutino to the South and La Veloce to the West.
