Maccagnano is the flagship product of the company. It was born in 1993. It is a wine made with 100% Verdicchio grapes from a single vineyard bordered by sandstone rocks found during soil cultivation. The altitude (450 m above sea level) and the microclimate of Matelica allow the Verdicchio grape variety to give its best. It is a high-alcohol, full-bodied, intense and savory wine; for these qualities it is left to mature for 18 months in the cellar.
The vinification takes place with recent techniques integrated with traditional rules. When released on the market, the product is still fresh and has wide margins to express itself at its best, thus allowing it a long life.

Fun fact: its name is closely linked to the territory where it is produced, as Maccagnano is one of the four characters, belonging to Greek mythology, represented on the fountain in Piazza Mattei in Matelica. The four statues are positioned in the direction of the cardinal points: The Mermaid to the north, Maccagnano to the east, Biutino to the south and La Veloce to the west.
