| TERRITORY |

Matelica is a welcoming town in the Marche hinterland that rises between the mountain range of Monte San Vicino, the Sibillini Mountains, and the Esino River. Matelica, in fact, dominates the so-called Alta Valle Esina (Upper Esino Valley), the only one in the Marche region to be parallel, that is, arranged longitudinally from North to South, with respect to the sea. Matelica, therefore, protected by two mountain ranges and unaffected by the influence of the sea, enjoys a continental climate characterized by strong temperature variations between night and day. Its soil, on the other hand, is rich in minerals. The unique combination of climate and soil makes the Verdicchio produced in Matelica highly recognizable and predisposes the Matelica hills to also welcome other grape varieties, reds such as Merlot, Sangiovese, and Ciliegiolo that have adapted well. The Gagliardi company makes respect and enhancement of the Matelica wine landscape its objective: with its wines, in fact, it seeks to tell the story of the territory by bringing back its unique and peculiar characteristics. Gagliardi wines speak of the territory and the history of the company in Matelica.
